Developing an annual strategic plan and budget for your chapter will help it maximize its efficiency and growth. AEC will provide you with all the templates necessary to develop your annual strategic plan.  Each chapter's strategic plan should include:

  1. Goals for Chapter Activity: The AEC team stresses that each chapter should develop goals that meet the needs of the students on the ground, however, planning should include the following action points in order to ensure the success of the chapter.  Some examples of chapter goals may include:
    1. Fundraising
    2. Number of members
    3. Program development
    4. Special project creation
    5. Summit participation
    6. Institutional or community support

  1. Financial Goals (displayed in budget): Although many of the programs offered by AE chapters require little to no financial obligations, establishing a working budget can help the chapter leadership define the work they will do over the course of the school year.  Templates are available on the AEC website.

Note: Chapters engage in extensive goal setting activities at the annual summit. Those chapters who are not represented at the Summit must submit a AE Chapter Strategic Plan to AEC at the start of the year. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
